Primary color sets the accent used for links, buttons, and focus states across your status dashboard. Adjust it in Dashboards when you want a quick brand match without writing custom CSS.

Primary color

The Primary color picker in the Branding section sets the accent color for your status dashboard. It applies to:

  • Hyperlinks (page title, header nav, footer, event titles, coordinator contact links, rich-text links in updates)
  • Primary buttons (e.g. Subscribe)
  • Focus rings and selected states (tabs, checkboxes, form inputs)
  • Icons and accents on Subscribe and Support pages

New dashboards start with a neutral slate grey (#475569). Use the color picker or type a hex value directly. Click Reset to default to restore the slate grey.

Primary color does not affect status severity dots, incident/maintenance card borders, or error/success feedback banners.

If your plan also includes Custom Code, Custom CSS can override primary color styling on all public dashboard pages — for example by targeting brand-* utility classes or redefining --color-brand-* CSS variables. Use the picker when you want a consistent accent with no code; use Custom CSS when you need finer control or want to override other styles alongside the accent color.
