Overview
Let visitors subscribe to notifications on your status dashboard.
Subscriptions let visitors sign up for event notifications on your status dashboard. Choose which channels appear on the public Subscribe page and manage them per dashboard in Dashboards.
Configuring subscriptions
Open a dashboard in Dashboards and go to the Subscriptions tab (organization admins only). Each channel included in your plan appears as a toggle — Email, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, SMS, Slack, Webhooks, and WhatsApp.
A channel is offered to visitors only when both are true:
- Your plan includes the channel.
- You enable it on that dashboard.
Turn channels on or off, then click Save Changes. If your plan includes no subscription channels, the tab shows a feature-unavailable message instead of toggles.
Status dashboard
When at least one channel is effectively enabled, a Subscribe link appears in the action bar. Visitors open /subscribe to sign up or manage preferences.
Dashboard access and subscription identity are separate. When SSO is enabled, visitors must sign in through your IdP to reach the dashboard — the same gate as viewing the status page. They must still complete the normal channel verify and manage flow to act on a subscription, even with SSO on. Channel tokens are preserved through the SSO login redirect.
On public dashboards (SSO off), subscribe and manage-request forms require reCAPTCHA v2. On SSO-protected dashboards, reCAPTCHA is not shown — the IdP session replaces it. This is a platform rule; an IP allowlist does not remove the reCAPTCHA requirement on public dashboards. Token-based verify and manage pages never use reCAPTCHA.
